Cuando el pedal de freno es accionado, el líquido es comprimido y acciona las pastillas y/o zapatas para una frenada perfecta. Además de eso, lúbrica y previene la corrosión de las piezas de todo el sistema. Siempre se recomienda para reemplazar el líquido existente en el sistema por uno nuevo y no sólo completado hasta que el nivel máximo requerido en el depósito, pues el líquido de freno puede estar contaminado.
