Important Instructions for Using a Reusable Coffee Pod: Fill the reusable pod with coffee powder. Close the reusable pod. Choose your preferred empty shell size (small, medium, or big). Insert the shell with the reusable pod into the machine. Nespresso® is a registered trademark that is not linked in any way to Ecological Method Pods, we are merely using their name to indicate compatibility with our pods.   Reusable Coffee Pods FAQs How long do the refillable pods last? They will last a few years if you take care of them and wash them after every use. Our offices have been using them for more than 3 years, and they still function as if they are brand new. Are reusable pods and lids for Nespresso worth it? The answer is yes - reusable pods are definitely worth it. They can produce a high-quality cup of coffee while being economical and environmentally friendly. What type of reusable coffee pods do you have? We currently have 3 types of reusable coffee pods: Nespresso® original pods(here),  Nespresso® Vertuo machines (here), and Keurig® (here). We Also have a reusable silicone lid for all Nespresso Vertuo machines including Vertuo next and Breville.  Can reusable pods damage my machine? There are holes in the pods designed so that the water can pass through without any obstructions. Many tests have been done to make sure neither the pod nor the machine gets damaged during the process. With what machines are the pods compatible? The Ecological Method pods for Nespresso© are compatible with almost all the machines: Nespresso Vertuo BNV220, BNV250, Nespresso Vertuoline GCA1, DeLonghi ENV135 & Nespresso VertuoPlus (Round Top): BNV420, BNV450, BNV455. The only machines NOT compatible are Vertuo Next machines, Breville, DeLonghi ENV 150, Vertuo Plus DLX + Vertuo Plus (Flat Top): ENV150,ENV155.For these models please use our Reusable Lid! First of all, we want to remind you that reusing is always better than recycling. There is still a negative impact from recycling, even if it is less than just using it once and tossing it.  That being said, Nespresso® recently decided (was forced to?) put in place a recycling program. But they only recycled 24% of their pods. Aluminum in their pods requires a special alloy, so only 0.1% of their pods are made from recycled aluminum. Will my machine lose its warranty if I use your pod? Absolutely not. The only difference between using our pod and using any other pod is that our pod does not create any waste. Won’t the pod get too hot after each use? It is true that the pod will be hot after each use. Wait 1 or 2 minutes before handling it. To speed up the process, you can grab it with a tool and place it underwater.  It might be easier if you choose one of our discounted packs with several pods to shorten the process in case you make coffee for friends and family. How do I dispose of grind coffee pods? You can throw it into your home compost, green waste bin (if your local council uses industrial composting facilities), or you can take it to your local community compost heap. If it ends up in a landfill, it will still break down at an accelerated rate, just not as quickly as it would in compost. You can also use some as fertilizer for your soil, after washing it and mixing it in the ground it makes a great fertilizer! How do you make strong coffee with reusable pods? The most significant factor is the coffee type and grinds you use. Our recommendation is to go for a dark roast profile and grind size of 142 microns (most coffee roasters will know what we mean). Other customers recommend Lavazza Crema e Gusto if you're looking for a big name. Adding less milk/water to your drink is another way to increase strength. As a final step, you can also use two pods in order to double the strength of your coffee. How hard should I tamp my coffee? Tamping should be adjusted according to your taste.Pressing too hard will prevent water from flowing freely. However, if you do not fill your pod with enough coffee, it will be watery. Give it a few tries until you find the perfect cup for you. Can I use other coffee in my Nespresso? Yes, your coffee can be brewed in a Nespresso machine. Both the Vertuo and Original machines use refillable pods specifically designed for that purpose. You can use Lavazza Crema e Gusto Starbucks coffee. How to use the Reusable lid? With just a few seconds, you can make the perfect cup of coffee after removing the foil lid before first use!
